SALARY: £60,000 - £70,000 P.A.


My client is a leading international brand in the consumer insurance sector. They are currently recruiting for a commercially minded Product Development Manager to lead the ongoing improvement and development of their UK&I insurance products.

A team lead role, the position will incorporate review of market intelligence, product innovation, partnerships (Banks for example), go-to-market activities, support with RFPs and tenders, marketing and sales materials, and project management.

This is a strategic and hands on commercially focused project management role and will supervise a small team including Partner Account Managers, GTM, Digital, Marketing and Market Intelligence support.

The position works in a matrix organization and can be worked remotely.


The PMI Manager role includeS:

  • Supporting the growth of UK&I consumer insurance division within the business.

  • Acting as UK&I product development team lead and point of contact; approve team holidays etc.

  • Developing new customer feedback initiatives (Consumers and Partners such as banks).

  • Specifying market requirements and positioning for insurance products in this category by conducting market and competitor research supported by customer feedback and market intelligence. (Hands-on involvement and agency / team input).

  • Project managing solutions for product innovation, product growth, and the customer journey working cross-functionally with external partners and internal teams including; partner management, marketing, digital / web teams, sales, and commercial teams.

  • Working with the sales team to assess the response to, and suitability of promotional materials.

  • Developing and executing, with support from your team, marketing plans, launch plans, marketing materials, digital tools, and GTM guidance for UK&I working cross-functionally with teams across the business.

  • Contributing to insurance regulatory compliance and corporate social responsibility.

  • Sharing best practices for this division of consumer insurance with European teams.


The ideal PMI manager will have:

  • Strong project management skills working in a matrix environment

  • Demonstrable experience in a product development position, or closely aligned go-to-market Growth marketing role.

  • Experience working in consumer insurance preferred however, our client will review experience for other consumer sectors.

  • Experience of managing partners / partner products (Banks, Resellers etc).

  • Comfortable operating as Business Unit Team Leader, communicating team holidays, overseeing workloads, be first point of call for the team in the UK.
