MARKETING JOB INTERVIEW COACHING IS FOR YOU IF…

  • The answer is always “no”, and you can’t work out where you are going wrong

  • You are heading into the jobs market again and feel the need to refresh your interview skills

  • You struggle to keep on track in competency-based interviews

  • Your confidence is low, and you want some expert advice and constructive feedback

  • You want to make a great first impression

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE MARKETING INTERVIEW COACHING SESSION?

The session takes place over 2 video calls and will require some independent work from you:

Step 1: you send us your CV and a marketing job description (a marketing job you have interviewed for previously, or is in the pipeline). Using this job profile we will develop a question deck that is tailored to you, your seniority and area of marketing expertise; replicating the questions you are likely to face in a live interview.

Step 2: over a 30 minute video call we carry out an in-depth practice competency interview that will be recorded (we appreciate for some people being recorded is uncomfortable, but we promise there is no better way for you to objectively look at yourself!). It is helpful for you to prepare 2-3 questions that you would likely ask in an interview situation in advance.

Step 3: you will receive a copy of the video to watch and a post interview form to complete. We ask that you watch and analyse your performance independently (this will give you time to assess your performance objectively without external bias from us).

Step 4: over a 30 - 45 minute video call we then review our findings and discuss those areas for improvement and discuss frameworks that can help. We also revisit problem questions to devise strategies to cope with these more effectively in future marketing interviews.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

  • How to improve the structure of your answers to marketing competency questions using the STAR technique;

  • How to polish your communication skills, including introduction and closing;

  • Understand what your unique marketing selling points are in relation to the types of roles you are interviewing for and how to promote these;

  • How to showcase your marketing successes – what information you need to have at the tips of your fingers in an interview;

  • What preparation you need to do in advance;

  • Complete the session feeling more confident and in control of your next interview experience.

HOW HAS THE MARKETING CV REVIEW HELPED OTHERS IN THEIR MARKETING JOB SEARCH?

Karen is amazing – thank you so much for your incredible guidance and support!

Video interviews are very different to meeting in person, and Karen gave me some fantastic advice on how to prepare more effectively for video interviews and understand what the interviewer is looking for.

Delighted to say that after a couple of coaching sessions, my approach to interviews improved dramatically, and very soon afterwards I was offered an amazing role with an incredibly exciting brand. This wouldn’t have happened without Karen’s help in improving my interview skills and preparation.

Thank you once again and I highly recommend Karen’s expertise for anyone in a similar position.
