  • Digital Marketing: Drive digital marketing strategies, including website optimization, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), social media marketing, email marketing, and marketing automation. Monitor digital marketing performance, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions to optimize results.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a high-performing marketing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, and ensure effective communication and coordination within the team and across departments.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and ROI. Monitor marketing expenditures, track campaign costs, and provide regular reports to senior management.

  • Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, consumer behaviour, and the competitive landscape. Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, emerging trends, and potential risks. Use market insights to inform marketing strategies and drive innovation.

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and executive leadership, to ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with business objectives. Manage relationships with external partners, such as agencies, vendors, and media outlets.

  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives. Monitor campaign performance, track key metrics, and provide regular reports and presentations to senior management. Use data insights to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for optimization.

REQUIREMENTS OF A marketing director:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

  • Proven experience in marketing roles with progressively increasing responsibilities. Experience as a Marketing Manager or similar position is preferred.

  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop and execute marketing plans aligned with business objectives.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing marketing team.

  • In-depth knowledge of marketing principles, practices, and industry trends.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data, derive insights and make data-driven decisions.
