Recruiting for marketing?

If you’d rather read than watch, here’s the transcript of me chatting about the dynamics of the marketing recruitment market today:

Hi there! Just got back from my long run and had a lovely time to reflect on how busy we are at the moment and how much the market has absolutely turned around in the last six weeks. It's just phenomenally busy at the moment!

And I just thought I'd give 3 bits of advice to anyone that is recruiting right now.

 Firstly, think about if you are having people in the office post-COVID. Be really clear about the policy, because there is a lot of ambiguity about that and the more open you can be about being hybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 days at home, the bigger the pool of candidates you're going to be able to attract.

 The other thing is do not low-ball. Lots of people are being counter-offered and there is more than one offer on the table at the moment for candidates. So, don't think you can get somebody on the lower end of the scale at the moment. You do need to pay market price.

 And then finally, be quick! Don't draw out a long process and be decisive. If you really want somebody to join your business, then make it happen as quickly as you can.
